আয়াতঃ 039.048
আর দেখবে, তাদের দুস্কর্মসমূহ এবং যে বিষয়ে তারা ঠাট্টা-বিদ্রুপ করত, তা তাদেরকে ঘিরে নেবে।
For the evils of their Deeds will confront them, and they will be (completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at!
وَبَدَا لَهُمْ سَيِّئَاتُ مَا كَسَبُوا وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون
Wabada lahum sayyi-atu ma kasaboo wahaqa bihim ma kanoo bihi yastahzi-oona
YUSUFALI: For the evils of their Deeds will confront them, and they will be (completely) encircled by that which they used to mock at!
PICKTHAL: And the evils that they earned will appear unto them, and that whereat they used to scoff will surround them.
SHAKIR: And the evil (consequences) of what they wrought shall become plain to them, and the very thing they mocked at shall beset them.
KHALIFA: The sinful works they had earned will be shown to them, and the very things they used to mock will come back to haunt them.
৪৮। নিশ্চয়ই তাদের কৃতকর্মের মন্দ পরিণাম প্রকাশ হয়ে পড়বে , এবং তারা যা নিয়ে ঠাট্টা বিদ্রূপ করতো তা তাদের [ সম্পূর্ণরূপে ] পরিবেষ্টন করে ফেলবে ৪৩১৭।
৪৩১৭। যে ব্যাপারে অবিশ্বাসীরা সর্বদা ঠাট্টা বিদ্রূপ করতো মৃত্যু পরপারের জীবনে তাদের ব্যঙ্গ বিদ্রূপ তাদের আষ্টে-পৃষ্ঠে অপমানকর ভাবে বেঁধে ফেলবে। সেদিন তাদের বোধদয় ঘটবে যে তারা যার অনুসরণ করেছে তা ছিলো শুধুমাত্র মিথ্যা গর্ব ও অহংকার।
আয়াতঃ 039.049
মানুষকে যখন দুঃখ-কষ্ট স্পর্শ করে, তখন সে আমাকে ডাকতে শুরু করে, এরপর আমি যখন তাকে আমার পক্ষ থেকে নেয়ামত দান করি, তখন সে বলে, এটা তো আমি পূর্বের জানা মতেই প্রাপ্ত হয়েছি। অথচ এটা এক পরীক্ষা, কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই বোঝে না।
Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: But when We bestow a favour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, “This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!” Nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!
فَإِذَا مَسَّ الْإِنسَانَ ضُرٌّ دَعَانَا ثُمَّ إِذَا خَوَّلْنَاهُ نِعْمَةً مِّنَّا قَالَ إِنَّمَا أُوتِيتُهُ عَلَى عِلْمٍ بَلْ هِيَ فِتْنَةٌ وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
Fa-itha massa al-insana durrun daAAana thumma itha khawwalnahu niAAmatan minna qala innama ooteetuhu AAala AAilmin bal hiya fitnatun walakinna aktharahum la yaAAlamoona
YUSUFALI: Now, when trouble touches man, he cries to Us: But when We bestow a favour upon him as from Ourselves, he says, “This has been given to me because of a certain knowledge (I have)!” Nay, but this is but a trial, but most of them understand not!
PICKTHAL: Now when hurt toucheth a man he crieth unto Us, and afterward when We have granted him a boon from Us, he saith: Only by force of knowledge I obtained it. Nay, but it is a test. But most of them know not.
SHAKIR: So when harm afflicts a man he calls upon Us; then, when We give him a favor from Us, he says: I have been given it only by means of knowledge. Nay, it is a trial, but most of them do not know.
KHALIFA: If the human is touched by adversity, he implores us, but as soon as we bestow a blessing upon him, he says, “I attained this because of my cleverness!” Indeed, this is only a test, but most of them do not know.
৪৯। এখন, যখন মানুষকে বিপর্যয় স্পর্শ করে সে আমাকে আর্তনাদ করে [ ডাকে ] ৪৩১৮। কিন্তু যখন আমি আমার পক্ষ থেকে অনুগ্রহ দান করি ৪৩১৯ সে বলে, ” এটা আমাকে দেয়া হয়েছে কারণ আমার বিশেষ জ্ঞান রয়েছে।” ৪৩২০ বস্তুত এটা একটা পরীক্ষা ,কিন্তু তাদের অধিকাংশই তা বুঝতে পারে না।

৪৩২০। দেখুন [২৮ : ৭৮ ] ও টিকা ৩৪০৮। পার্থিব সমৃদ্ধি নাম-যশঃ ,প্রভাব -প্রতিপত্তি , খ্যাতি ,প্রতিভা সব কিছুই আল্লাহ্র তরফ থেকে পরীক্ষা স্বরূপ ঠিক যেরূপ দুঃখ , দুর্দ্দশা , বিপদ -বিপর্যয় ইত্যাদি। যারা আল্লাহ্র বিশেষ অনুগ্রহে ধন্য তাদের সে বিষয়ে দায় দায়িত্ব থাকে; জবাবদিহিতার সম্মুখীন হতে হবে। আবার বিপদ বিপর্যয়ে ধৈর্য্য ও আল্লাহ্র উপরে নির্ভরশীলতার পরীক্ষা করা হয়।
আয়াতঃ 039.050
তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও তাই বলত, অতঃপর তাদের কৃতকর্ম তাদের কোন উপকারে আসেনি।
Thus did the (generations) before them say! But all that they did was of no profit to them.
قَدْ قَالَهَا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَمَا أَغْنَى عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ
Qad qalaha allatheena min qablihim fama aghna AAanhum ma kanoo yaksiboona
