সূরা হাজ্জ্ব বাংলা

আয়াতঃ 022.046

তারা কি এই উদ্দেশ্যে দেশ ভ্রমণ করেনি, যাতে তারা সমঝদার হৃদয় ও শ্রবণ শক্তি সম্পন্ন কর্ণের অধিকারী হতে পারে? বস্তুতঃ চক্ষু তো অন্ধ হয় না, কিন্তু বক্ষ স্থিত অন্তরই অন্ধ হয়।
Have they not travelled through the land, and have they hearts wherewith to understand and ears wherewith to hear? Verily, it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts which are in the breasts that grow blind.

أَفَلَمْ يَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَتَكُونَ لَهُمْ قُلُوبٌ يَعْقِلُونَ بِهَا أَوْ آذَانٌ يَسْمَعُونَ بِهَا فَإِنَّهَا لَا تَعْمَى الْأَبْصَارُ وَلَكِن تَعْمَى الْقُلُوبُ الَّتِي فِي الصُّدُورِ
Afalam yaseeroo fee al-ardi fatakoona lahum quloobun yaAAqiloona biha aw athanun yasmaAAoona biha fa-innaha la taAAma al-absaru walakin taAAma alquloobu allatee fee alssudoori

YUSUFALI: Do they not travel through the land, so that their hearts (and minds) may thus learn wisdom and their ears may thus learn to hear? Truly it is not their eyes that are blind, but their hearts which are in their breasts.
PICKTHAL: Have they not travelled in the land, and have they hearts wherewith to feel and ears wherewith to hear? For indeed it is not the eyes that grow blind, but it is the hearts, which are within the bosoms, that grow blind.
SHAKIR: Have they not travelled in the land so that they should have hearts with which to understand, or ears with which to hear? For surely it is not the eyes that are blind, but blind are the hearts which are in the breasts.
KHALIFA: Did they not roam the earth, then use their minds to understand, and use their ears to hear? Indeed, the real blindness is not the blindness of the eyes, but the blindness of the hearts inside the chests.

৪৭। তথাপি তারা তোমাকে শাস্তি ত্বরান্বিত করতে বলে। কিন্তু আল্লাহ্‌ কখনও তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতি ভঙ্গ করেন না ২৮২৬। প্রকৃতপক্ষে, তোমার প্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে একদিন তোমাদের সহস্র বৎসরের সমান।

২৮২৬। মানুষকে আল্লাহ্‌ পাপ কাজ করার সাথে সাথে শাস্তি দান করেন না। মানুষ যাতে অনুতাপের মাধ্যমে আত্মসংশোধন করার সুযোগ পায়, সেই সুযোগ আল্লাহ্‌ পাপীদের দান করে থাকেন। এই হচ্ছে মানুষকে দেয়া আল্লাহ্‌র রহমতের অঙ্গীকার। পাপীদের দ্বারা শাস্তি ত্বরান্বিত করার অনুরোধেও আল্লাহ্‌ তাঁর অঙ্গীকার ভঙ্গ করেন না। তিনি বারে বারে পাপীদের সময় দেন, সুযোগ দেন অনুতাপের জন্য; কিন্তু সাবধান করে দেন যে প্রতিটি ব্যক্তিকেই পৃথিবীতে তার কৃতকর্মের জন্য পরলোকে স্রষ্টার কাছে জবাবদিহি করতে হবে। আর এই জবাবদিহিতা হবে ন্যায় নীতির ভিত্তিতে। আল্লাহ্‌র এই অঙ্গীকার সত্য তা বাস্তবায়িত হবেই। যারা নির্বোধ তারাই আল্লাহ্‌র শাস্তিকে ত্বরান্বিত করতে চায়। আল্লাহ্‌ স্থান , কাল ও সময়ের উর্দ্ধে। তিনি অনন্ত , অসীম , আমরা সময়ের হিসাব করি দিন ও রাত্রির দ্বারা। কিন্তু সময়ের এই ধারণা আপেক্ষিক [ বর্তমান বিজ্ঞানের ধারণা ]। সময় হচ্ছে অনন্ত ও অসীম যা স্থান ও কালের দ্বারা সীমাবদ্ধ নয়। এরই উদাহরণ আল্লাহ্‌ দিয়েছেন আমরা যাকে সহস্র বৎসর কল্পনা করি হয়তো তা আল্লাহ্‌র নিকট একদিন বা এক মিনিটের সমতুল্য।

আয়াতঃ 022.047

তারা আপনাকে আযাব ত্বরান্বিত করতে বলে। অথচ আল্লাহ কখনও তাঁর ওয়াদা ভঙ্গ করেন না। আপনার পালনকর্তার কাছে একদিন তোমাদের গণনার এক হাজার বছরের সমান।
And they ask you to hasten on the torment! And Allâh fails not His Promise. And verily, a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you reckon.

وَيَسْتَعْجِلُونَكَ بِالْعَذَابِ وَلَن يُخْلِفَ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَإِنَّ يَوْمًا عِندَ رَبِّكَ كَأَلْفِ سَنَةٍ مِّمَّا تَعُدُّونَ
WayastaAAjiloonaka bialAAathabi walan yukhlifa Allahu waAAdahu wa-inna yawman AAinda rabbika kaalfi sanatin mimma taAAuddoona

YUSUFALI: Yet they ask thee to hasten on the Punishment! But Allah will not fail in His Promise. Verily a Day in the sight of thy Lord is like a thousand years of your reckoning.
PICKTHAL: And they will bid thee hasten on the Doom, and Allah faileth not His promise, but lo! a Day with Allah is as a thousand years of what ye reckon.
SHAKIR: And they ask you to hasten on the punishment, and Allah will by no means fail in His promise, and surely a day with your Lord is as a thousand years of what you number.
KHALIFA: They challenge you to bring retribution, and GOD never fails to fulfill His prophecy. A day of your Lord is like a thousand of your years.
