لَّا بَارِدٍ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ
La baridin wala kareemin
YUSUFALI: Nothing (will there be) to refresh, nor to please:
PICKTHAL: Neither cool nor refreshing.
SHAKIR: Neither cool nor honorable.
KHALIFA: Never cool, never tolerable.
৪৪। সেখানে আরামদায়ক ও সুখকর কিছু থাকবে না।
৪৫। ইতিপূর্বে ওরা তো অভ্যস্ত ছিলো সম্পদে [ ও বিলাসিতায় ], ৫২৪৪
৪৬। এবং ঘোরতর পাপে ছিলো নাছোড়বান্দা ও একগুঁয়ে
৫২৪৪। দেখুন [ ৩৪ : ৩৪ ] আয়াত এবং [৪৩ : ২৩ ] আয়াত। আয়াত নং ৪৫ ও ৪৬ একসঙ্গে পড়তে হবে। দোযখবাসীদের বর্ণনায় বলা হয়েছে, পার্থিব জীবনে দোযখের অধিবাসীদের ছিলো অগাধ-অর্থ-সম্পদ যা তারা জনহিতকর কার্যে ব্যয় না করে নিজস্ব ভোগ বিলাস এবং লজ্জ্বাষ্কর পাপ কার্যে নিয়োজিত করে যে কারণে পরলোকের জীবনে তারা অপমানিত হচ্ছে।
আয়াতঃ 056.045
তারা ইতিপূর্বে স্বাচ্ছন্দ্যশীল ছিল।
Verily, before that, they indulged in luxury,
إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُتْرَفِينَ
Innahum kanoo qabla thalika mutrafeena
YUSUFALI: For that they were wont to be indulged, before that, in wealth (and luxury),
PICKTHAL: Lo! heretofore they were effete with luxury
SHAKIR: Surely they were before that made to live in ease and plenty.
KHALIFA: They used to be rich.
৪৪। সেখানে আরামদায়ক ও সুখকর কিছু থাকবে না।
৪৫। ইতিপূর্বে ওরা তো অভ্যস্ত ছিলো সম্পদে [ ও বিলাসিতায় ], ৫২৪৪
৪৬। এবং ঘোরতর পাপে ছিলো নাছোড়বান্দা ও একগুঁয়ে
৫২৪৪। দেখুন [ ৩৪ : ৩৪ ] আয়াত এবং [৪৩ : ২৩ ] আয়াত। আয়াত নং ৪৫ ও ৪৬ একসঙ্গে পড়তে হবে। দোযখবাসীদের বর্ণনায় বলা হয়েছে, পার্থিব জীবনে দোযখের অধিবাসীদের ছিলো অগাধ-অর্থ-সম্পদ যা তারা জনহিতকর কার্যে ব্যয় না করে নিজস্ব ভোগ বিলাস এবং লজ্জ্বাষ্কর পাপ কার্যে নিয়োজিত করে যে কারণে পরলোকের জীবনে তারা অপমানিত হচ্ছে।
আয়াতঃ 056.046
তারা সদাসর্বদা ঘোরতর পাপকর্মে ডুবে থাকত।
And were persisting in great sin (joining partners in worship along with Allâh, committing murders and other crimes, etc.)
وَكَانُوا يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى الْحِنثِ الْعَظِيمِ
Wakanoo yusirroona AAala alhinthi alAAatheemi
YUSUFALI: And persisted obstinately in wickedness supreme!
PICKTHAL: And used to persist in the awful sin.
SHAKIR: And they persisted in the great violation.
KHALIFA: They insisted on the great blasphemy.
৪৪। সেখানে আরামদায়ক ও সুখকর কিছু থাকবে না।

আয়াতঃ 056.047
তারা বলতঃ আমরা যখন মরে অস্থি ও মৃত্তিকায় পরিণত হয়ে যাব, তখনও কি পুনরুত্থিত হব?
And they used to say: ”When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be resurrected?
وَكَانُوا يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَئِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
Wakanoo yaqooloona a-itha mitna wakunna turaban waAAithaman a-inna lamabAAoothoona
YUSUFALI: And they used to say, “What! when we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?-
PICKTHAL: And they used to say: When we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then, forsooth, be raised again,
SHAKIR: And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised?
KHALIFA: They said, “After we die and turn to dust and bones, we get resurrected?
৪৭। এবং তারা বলতো, ” সে কি ! যখন আমরা মারা যাব এবং ধূলি ও অস্থিতে পরিণত হব ৫২৪৫ ; সত্যিই কি তখন আমাদের পুণরায় উত্থিত করা হবে ?
৪৮। ” আমাদের এবং আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ?”
৫২৪৫। তারা পুনরুত্থান দিবসকে অবিশ্বাস করতো, এবং ব্যঙ্গ -বিদ্রূপ করতো। মৃত্যুর পরবর্তী জীবনে তারা বাস্তব সত্যের মুখোমুখি হবে।
আয়াতঃ 056.048
এবং আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষগণও!
”And also our forefathers?”
أَوَ آبَاؤُنَا الْأَوَّلُونَ
Awa abaona al-awwaloona
YUSUFALI: “(We) and our fathers of old?”
PICKTHAL: And also our forefathers?
SHAKIR: Or our fathers of yore?
KHALIFA: “Does this include our forefathers?”
৪৭। এবং তারা বলতো, ” সে কি ! যখন আমরা মারা যাব এবং ধূলি ও অস্থিতে পরিণত হব ৫২৪৫ ; সত্যিই কি তখন আমাদের পুণরায় উত্থিত করা হবে ?
৪৮। ” আমাদের এবং আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ?”
