৭৮। সে বলেছিলো, ” এসব আমি পেয়েছি আমার নিজস্ব জ্ঞানের দ্বারা ৩৪০৮।” সে কি জানে না যে, তার পূর্বে আল্লাহ্ [ বহু ] মানব গোষ্ঠিকে ধ্বংস করেছেন , যারা ছিলো তার থেকে শক্তিতে প্রবল, এবং তাদের সংগৃহিত [ ধনসম্পদ ] ছিলো আরও অধিক? কিন্তু অপরাধীদের নিকট [ সঙ্গে সঙ্গে ] তাদের পাপের হিসাব চাওয়া হবে না। ৩৪০৯।
৩৪০৮। কারূণ সম্পদের অহংকারে এতটাই অন্ধ ও উদ্ধত হয়ে গিয়েছিলো যে, তার ধারণা হয়েছিলো যা কিছু সম্পদ সবই সে অর্জন করেছে নিজের মেধা, জ্ঞান, দক্ষতা, বুদ্ধিমত্তার সাহায্যে। সেখানে আল্লাহ্র কোনও অনুগ্রহ নাই। যেহেতু সব কৃতিত্ব তার একার সুতারাং সে সকলের থেকে শ্রেষ্ঠ এবং সকলে তার পায়ের তলার যোগ্য। – হতভাগ্য ! আল্লাহ্ তাকে টেনে নীচে নামিয়ে ফেলেছিলেন। কারূণের যে মানসিকতা , যুগে যুগে এবং বর্তমানেও যারা প্রভূত সম্পদের অধিকারী এই একই মানসিকতা তাদের মাঝেও কাজ করে। তাদের অপরাধ সম্পর্কে তৎক্ষণাত জিজ্ঞাসা করা হবে না। কারণ তাদের সব হিসেব আল্লাহ্র নিকট আছে।
৩৪০৯। অপরাধীদের অপরাধ সম্পর্কে তৎক্ষণাত প্রশ্ন করা হবে না। এমন কি কারূণকেও সুদীর্ঘ সময় দেয়া হয়েছিলো তাঁর অগাধ বৈভব-বিত্ত উপভোগ করার জন্য। যখন তার পাপের পাত্র পূর্ণ হয়েছিলো তখনই তাকে ধবংস করে দেয়া হয়।

অতঃপর কারুন জাঁকজমক সহকারে তার সম্প্রদায়ের সামনে বের হল। যারা পার্থিব জীবন কামনা করত, তারা বলল, হায়, কারুন যা প্রাপ্ত হয়েছে, আমাদেরকে যদি তা দেয়া হত! নিশ্চয় সে বড় ভাগ্যবান।
So he went forth before his people in his pomp. Those who were desirous of the life of the world, said: ”Ah, would that we had the like of what Qârûn (Korah) has been given? Verily! He is the owner of a great fortune.”
فَخَرَجَ عَلَى قَوْمِهِ فِي زِينَتِهِ قَالَ الَّذِينَ يُرِيدُونَ الْحَيَاةَ الدُّنيَا يَا لَيْتَ لَنَا مِثْلَ مَا أُوتِيَ قَارُونُ إِنَّهُ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٍ
Fakharaja AAala qawmihi fee zeenatihi qala allatheena yureedoona alhayata alddunya ya layta lana mithla ma ootiya qaroonu innahu lathoo haththin AAatheemin
YUSUFALI: So he went forth among his people in the (pride of his wordly) glitter. Said those whose aim is the Life of this World: “Oh! that we had the like of what Qarun has got! for he is truly a lord of mighty good fortune!”
PICKTHAL: Then went he forth before his people in his pomp. Those who were desirous of the life of the world said: Ah, would that we had the like of what hath been given unto Korah! Lo! he is lord of rare good fortune.
SHAKIR: So he went forth to his people in his finery. Those who desire this world’s life said: O would that we had the like of what Qaroun is given; most surely he is possessed of mighty good fortune.
KHALIFA: One day, he came out to his people in full splendor. Those who preferred this worldly life said, “Oh, we wish that we possessed what Qaaroon has attained. Indeed, he is very fortunate.”
৭৯। সুতারাং সে তার সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে [ পার্থিব সম্পদের অহংকারে ] জাঁকজমকের সাথে উপস্থিত হলো। যাদের জীবনের লক্ষ্য হলো [ শুধু ] পৃথিবীর জীবন, তারা বলেছিলো , ” কারূণ যেরূপ পেয়েছে , আমরাও যদি সেরূপ পেতাম ! নিশ্চয় সে মহা ভাগ্যবান ব্যক্তি।” ৩৪১০
৩৪১০। কারূণের বিজয় গৌরব যখন মধ্য গগণে, কারূণের পার্থিব সম্পদ, জাগতিক বিষয়বুদ্ধি সম্পন্ন লোকদের মনে হিংসার উদ্রেক করতো। তারা মনে করতো যে, কারূণের মত ধন ঐশ্বর্যের অধিকারী হলে তারা কতই না সুখী হতো। কিন্তু যারা প্রকৃত জ্ঞানী তারা ঘটনার তাৎপর্য উপলব্ধিতে সক্ষম হয়েছিলেন। পরবর্তী আয়াতে বর্ণনা করা হয়েছে।
আয়াতঃ 028.080
আর যারা জ্ঞান প্রাপ্ত হয়েছিল, তার বলল, ধিক তোমাদেরকে, যারা ঈমানদার এবং সৎকর্মী, তাদের জন্যে আল্লাহর দেয়া সওয়াবই উৎকৃষ্ট। এটা তারাই পায়, যারা সবরকারী।
But those who had been given (religious) knowledge said: ”Woe to you! The Reward of Allâh (in the Hereafter) is better for those who believe and do righteous good deeds, and this none shall attain except those who are patient (in following the truth).”
وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْعِلْمَ وَيْلَكُمْ ثَوَابُ اللَّهِ خَيْرٌ لِّمَنْ آمَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَالِحًا وَلَا يُلَقَّاهَا إِلَّا الصَّابِرُونَ
Waqala allatheena ootoo alAAilma waylakum thawabu Allahi khayrun liman amana waAAamila salihan wala yulaqqaha illa alssabiroona
YUSUFALI: But those who had been granted (true) knowledge said: “Alas for you! The reward of Allah (in the Hereafter) is best for those who believe and work righteousness: but this none shall attain, save those who steadfastly persevere (in good).”
PICKTHAL: But those who had been given knowledge said: Woe unto you! The reward of Allah for him who believeth and doeth right is better, and only the steadfast will obtain it.
SHAKIR: And those who were given the knowledge said: Woe to you! Allah’s reward is better for him who believes and does good, and none is made to receive this except the patient.
KHALIFA: As for those who were blessed with knowledge, they said, “Woe to you, GOD’s recompense is far better for those who believe and lead a righteous life.” None attains this except the steadfast.
