And let not their wealth or their children amaze you. Allâh’s Plan is to punish them with these things in this world, and that their souls shall depart (die) while they are disbelievers.
Wala tuAAjibka amwaluhum waawladuhum innama yureedu Allahu an yuAAaththibahum biha fee alddunya watazhaqa anfusuhum wahum kafiroona
YUSUFALI: Nor let their wealth nor their (following in) sons dazzle thee: Allah’s plan is to punish them with these things in this world, and that their souls may perish in their (very) denial of Allah.
PICKTHAL: Let not their wealth nor their children please thee! Allah purposeth only to punish them thereby in the world, and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers.
SHAKIR: And let not their property and their children excite your admlration; Allah only wishes to chastise them with these in this world and (that) their souls may depart while they are unbelievers
KHALIFA: Do not be impressed by their money or their children; GOD causes these to be sources of misery for them in this world, and their souls depart as disbelievers.

And when a Sûrah (chapter from the Qur’ân) is revealed, enjoining them to believe in Allâh and to strive hard and fight along with His Messenger, the wealthy among them ask your leave to exempt them (from Jihâd) and say, ”Leave us (behind), we would be with those who sit (at home).”

YUSUFALI: When a Sura comes down, enjoining them to believe in Allah and to strive and fight along with His Messenger, those with wealth and influence among them ask thee for exemption, and say: “Leave us (behind): we would be with those who sit (at home).”
PICKTHAL: And when a surah is revealed (which saith): Believe in Allah and strive along with His messenger, the men of wealth among them still ask leave of thee and say: Suffer us to be with those who sit (at home).
SHAKIR: And whenever a chapter is revealed, saying: Believe in Allah and strive hard along with His Messenger, those having ampleness of means ask permission of you and say: Leave us (behind), that we may be with those who sit.
KHALIFA: When a sura is revealed, stating: “Believe in GOD, and strive with His messenger,” even the strong among them say, “Let us stay behind!”

They are content to be with those (the women) who sit behind (at home). Their hearts are sealed up (from all kinds of goodness and right guidance), so they understand not.
Radoo bi-an yakoonoo maAAa alkhawalifi watubiAAa AAala quloobihim fahum la yafqahoona
YUSUFALI: They prefer to be with (the women), who remain behind (at home): their hearts are sealed and so they understand not.
PICKTHAL: They are content that they should be with the useless and their hearts are sealed, so that they apprehend not.
SHAKIR: They preferred to be with those who remained behind, and a seal is set on their hearts so they do not understand.
KHALIFA: They chose to be with the sedentary. Consequently, their hearts were sealed, and thus, they cannot comprehend.
