YUSUFALI: Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith.
PICKTHAL: Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah’s Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not).
SHAKIR: These towns– We relate to you some of their stories, and certainly their messengers came to them with clear arguments, but they would not believe in what they rejected at first; thus does Allah set a seal over the hearts of the unbelievers
KHALIFA: We narrate to you the history of those communities: their messengers went to them with clear proofs, but they were not to believe in what they had rejected before. GOD thus seals the hearts of the disbelievers.
আয়াতঃ 007.102
আর তাদের অধিকাংশ লোককেই আমি প্রতিজ্ঞা বাস্তবায়নকারীরূপে পাইনি; বরং তাদের অধিকাংশকে পেয়েছি হুকুম অমান্যকারী।
And most of them We found not (true) to their covenant, but most of them We found indeed Fâsiqûn (rebellious, disobedient to Allâh).
وَمَا وَجَدْنَا لأَكْثَرِهِم مِّنْ عَهْدٍ وَإِن وَجَدْنَا أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَفَاسِقِينَ
Wama wajadna li-aktharihim min AAahdin wa-in wajadna aktharahum lafasiqeena
YUSUFALI: Most of them We found not men (true) to their covenant: but most of them We found rebellious and disobedient.
PICKTHAL: We found no (loyalty to any) covenant in most of them. Nay, most of them We found wrong-doers.
SHAKIR: And We did not find in most of them any (faithfulness to) covenant, and We found most of them to be certainly transgressors.
KHALIFA: We found that most of them disregard their covenant; we found most of them wicked.
আয়াতঃ 007.103
অতঃপর আমি তাদের পরে মূসাকে পাঠিয়েছি নিদর্শনাবলী দিয়ে ফেরাউন ও তার সভাসদদের নিকট। বস্তুতঃ ওরা তাঁর মোকাবেলায় কুফরী করেছে। সুতরাং চেয়ে দেখ, কি পরিণতি হয়েছে অনাচারীদের।
Then after them We sent Mûsa (Moses) with Our Signs to Fir’aun (Pharaoh) and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them. So see how was the end of the Mufsidûn (mischief-makers, corrupts, etc.).
ثُمَّ بَعَثْنَا مِن بَعْدِهِم مُّوسَى بِآيَاتِنَا إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ وَمَلَئِهِ فَظَلَمُواْ بِهَا فَانظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُفْسِدِينَ
Thumma baAAathna min baAAdihim moosa bi-ayatina ila firAAawna wamala-ihi fathalamoo biha faonuthur kayfa kana AAaqibatu almufsideena
YUSUFALI: Then after them We sent Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they wrongfully rejected them: So see what was the end of those who made mischief.
PICKTHAL: Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters!
SHAKIR: Then we raised after them Musa with Our communications to Firon and his chiefs, but they disbelieved in them; consider then what was the end of the mischief makers.
KHALIFA: After (those messengers,) we sent Moses with our signs to Pharaoh and his people, but they transgressed. Note the consequences for the wicked.
আয়াতঃ 007.104
আর মূসা বললেন, হে ফেরাউন, আমি বিশ্ব-পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে আগত রসূল।
And Mûsa (Moses) said: ”O Fir’aun (Pharaoh)! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the ’Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists).
وَقَالَ مُوسَى يَا فِرْعَوْنُ إِنِّي رَسُولٌ مِّن رَّبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
Waqala moosa ya firAAawnu innee rasoolun min rabbi alAAalameena
YUSUFALI: Moses said: “O Pharaoh! I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds,-
PICKTHAL: Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds,
SHAKIR: And Musa said: O Firon! surely I am a messenger from the Lord of the worlds:
KHALIFA: Moses said, “O Pharaoh, I am a messenger from the Lord of the universe.
আয়াতঃ 007.105
আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে যে সত্য এসেছে, তার ব্যতিক্রম কিছু না বলার ব্যাপারে আমি সুদৃঢ়। আমি তোমাদের পরওয়ারদেগারের নিদর্শন নিয়ে এসেছি। সুতরাং তুমি বনী ইসরাঈলদেরকে আমার সাথে পাঠিয়ে দাও।
”Proper it is for me that I say nothing concerning Allâh but the truth. Indeed I have come unto you from your Lord with a clear proof. So let the Children of Israel depart along with me.”
