YUSUFALI: Then they ham-strung the she-camel, and insolently defied the order of their Lord, saying: “O Salih! bring about thy threats, if thou art a messenger (of Allah)!”
PICKTHAL: So they hamstrung the she-camel, and they flouted the commandment of their Lord, and they said: O Salih! Bring upon us that thou threatenest if thou art indeed of those sent (from Allah).
SHAKIR: So they slew the she-camel and revolted against their Lord’s commandment, and they said: O Salih! bring us what you threatened us with, if you are one of the messengers.
KHALIFA: Subsequently, they slaughtered the camel, rebelled against their Lord’s command, and said, “O Saaleh, bring the doom you threaten us with, if you are really a messenger.”
আয়াতঃ 007.078
অতঃপর পাকড়াও করল তাদেরকে ভূমিকম্প। ফলে সকাল বেলায় নিজ নিজ গৃহে উপুড় হয়ে পড়ে রইল।
So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes.
فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الرَّجْفَةُ فَأَصْبَحُواْ فِي دَارِهِمْ جَاثِمِينَ
Faakhathat-humu alrrajfatu faasbahoo fee darihim jathimeena
YUSUFALI: So the earthquake took them unawares, and they lay prostrate in their homes in the morning!
PICKTHAL: So the earthquake seized them, and morning found them prostrate in their dwelling-place.
SHAKIR: Then the earthquake overtook them, so they became motionless bodies in their abode.
KHALIFA: Consequently, the quake annihilated them, leaving them dead in their homes.
আয়াতঃ 007.079
ছালেহ তাদের কাছ থেকে প্রস্থান করলো এবং বললঃ হে আমার সম্প্রদায়, আমি তোমাদের কাছে স্বীয় প্রতিপালকের পয়গাম পৌছিয়েছি এবং তোমাদের মঙ্গল কামনা করেছি কিন্তু তোমরা মঙ্গলকাঙ্খীদেরকে ভালবাস না।
Then he [Sâlih (Saleh)] turned from them, and said: ”O my people! I have indeed conveyed to you the Message of my Lord, and have given you good advice but you like not good advisers.”
فَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُمْ وَقَالَ يَا قَوْمِ لَقَدْ أَبْلَغْتُكُمْ رِسَالَةَ رَبِّي وَنَصَحْتُ لَكُمْ وَلَكِن لاَّ تُحِبُّونَ النَّاصِحِينَ
Fatawalla AAanhum waqala ya qawmi laqad ablaghtukum risalata rabbee wanasahtu lakum walakin la tuhibboona alnnasiheena
YUSUFALI: So Salih left them, saying: “O my people! I did indeed convey to you the message for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but ye love not good counsellors!”
PICKTHAL: And (Salih) turned from them and said: O my people! I delivered my Lord’s message unto you and gave you good advice, but ye love not good advisers.
SHAKIR: Then he turned away from them and said: O my people I did certainly deliver to you the message of my Lord, and I gave you good advice, but you do not love those who give good advice.
KHALIFA: He turned away from them, saying, “O my people, I have delivered my Lord’s message to you, and advised you, but you do not like any advisers.”
আয়াতঃ 007.080
এবং আমি লূতকে প্রেরণ করেছি। যখন সে স্বীয় সম্প্রদায়কে বললঃ তোমরা কি এমন অশ্লীল কাজ করছ, যা তোমাদের পূর্বে সারা বিশ্বের কেউ করেনি ?
And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: ”Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ’Alamîn (mankind and jinns)?
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِ أَتَأْتُونَ الْفَاحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِهَا مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِّن الْعَالَمِينَ
Walootan ith qala liqawmihi ata/toona alfahishata ma sabaqakum biha min ahadin mina alAAalameena
YUSUFALI: We also (sent) Lut: He said to his people: “Do ye commit lewdness such as no people in creation (ever) committed before you?
PICKTHAL: And Lot! (Remember) when he said unto his folk: Will ye commit abomination such as no creature ever did before you?
SHAKIR: And (We sent) Lut when he said to his people: What! do you commit an indecency which any one in the world has not done before you?
KHALIFA: Lot said to his people, “You commit such an abomination; no one in the world has done it before!
আয়াতঃ 007.081
তোমরা তো কামবশতঃ পুরুষদের কাছে গমন কর নারীদেরকে ছেড়ে। বরং তোমরা সীমা অতিক্রম করেছ।
”Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).”
